The first step is to getting your audience in agreement with your plans to be effective in gaining their overall support to ensure all parties are on the same page. “So getting an agreed definition is an essential starting point in measuring success, because it avoids problems later. But note that this is the beginning, not the end of the story” (Likierman, 2009 p. 46). The second step is to look from the inside out. Be in tune with your competitive company’s highs and lows in order to not fall with their same faults but to be prepared to overcome. “A rising tide lifts all boats” – as the aphorism goes” (Likierman, 2009 p. 48). You must take heed to be a successful leader.
