Many of the companies have improved their way of communication. Today companies have options to outsource employees globally and working with other foreign companies. We are moving towards a future, working with a vast amount of different personality, cultural, and generation differences that leaders must overcome. Communication becomes the core component of effective leadership and achieving the highest outcome. There are numerous different communication strategies a leader can take to change a company to a good organization. It is important to be closely working with the team and understanding the values and goals of other teammates. Now knowing their strength, assigning tasks and giving them power, essentially allowing the whole process to flow is the core of communication architecture done under good leadership.

Communication Strategy in Effective Leadership

Today, it is important to understand how a leader should perform in a team and the motivational attitude that comes with it. “Overall, Chi, Chung, and Tsai have clearly contributed to our understanding of how leaders’ positive moods connect to team performance” (Santora & Esposito, 2011, p. 89). It is important to have this in mind first since nothing gives you a bigger bonus point that getting a good first impression. Research has already shown that positively motivating leaders bring the team to a successful outcome.

Today through technological advances, communication through the web interface has become more predominant worldwide. Now many countries around the world are able to do business through the internet, and employment has also become global. There would be a need for many of the companies to apply various changes in their management architecture to meet modern-day means and maximum performance. “Cultural differences can present a challenge to global teams. These differences can be made manifest in different communication styles, languages, and operating styles” (Sonya, 2012). There are various traits in personality and age, also with the mix of cultural working environment differences, where leadership can be difficult and complicating. Positively approaching to teammates and leading the team with a clear goal, is an effective way to carry out leadership. Always having good communication with teammates can strengthen relationship and trust is the key to successful global leadership.

In a virtual environment, which many of the working environment is becoming, there would be cultural, generation, and personality barrier in operational management. In every leadership, it is key to communicate with each teammate to know and pick up their values and concerns. Failing to understand and not reaching out to teammates can lead to poor performance, bad teamwork, and many problems lead from this effect. “Leadership calls for clear communication about goals, responsibilities, performance, expectations, and feedback” (Sohmen, 2013) Knowing that they are more comfortable with certain communication technology, such as phone calls, text, or emails, for reason in the generation gap, can increase performance for certain people.

In order to allow the flow of the strong ring of communication, it is critical to understand how it is important to assign task accordingly to teammates, which task that is most fit in that situation. “Recognizing the skills and expertise of the team members and assign tasks accordingly. This enhances trust, which also is an essential element in a positive and balanced relationship of a leader with team members.” (Sonya, 2012). Recognizing their potentials and giving the authority as to where it is needed also brings a positive relationship between the team and achieve better performance. Being able to have better performance brings team better outcome and save time for everyone. Giving the person the right authority, not just ordering people but allowing them to learn from their own mistakes brings raise new leaders ahead. Teaching and assigning them their work with minimal guidance would be one of the final goals in leadership.

Effective Communication Strategy for Ben William

There are several points that Ben William has to do, in order to fulfill many of the concern different department have. One positive point Ben William has done in his company was that he have divided his leadership into different components in his firm. This allows the different department to manage and assess by them self, the concerns from the team and changes that have to be made. He receives the information correctly from a different manager from each department however the root of the cause came from lack of effective change in adapting technology in the communication process. Being able to work with teammates in different generation or idea is always important for good teamwork. Changing ways of communication bring better performance and management overall.

There has been already incidents where communication delay occurs in projects. Changing the process to send orders to a different person may be effective, such as creating a portal for everyone to connect and share information over the web. Also working towards improvement in feedback from teammate, such as conducting a not only semiannual survey, but a bulletin online that anyone can log in to and write their concern can be an effective method. Changing the way to collect information from the team can also improve the process to bring change in a company. Allowing for the good flow of commutation to run in a team can bring performance and bring the overall possibility to success.

Conclusion

Understanding each team’s strengths and weakness and dividing power and responsibility, grows trust and good teamwork, with overall great performance to achieve maximum outcome. Communication has changed over the century and people that many people working at different company would experience a larger diversity in age range, culture, and personality traits. In this moving global economy, leaders set forward positive communication, and achieve great teamwork by understanding the values and concerns of each teammate. Cultivating a strong relationship with the team creates greater trust, which makes it effective in assigning the accurate responsibility in that situation. Communication is the core component of effective leadership and achieving the highest outcome in successful leadership
