Windows 10 installation that it had earlier with windows 10 version 1511. Some windows 10 version 1511 releases had a symptom as described, “A Conexant Audio Processing Object (APO) fails a signing verification. This causes the system to lose audio functionality.” (support.microsoft.com, 2016) This audio playback issue which this was caused by windows 10 failing to identify the signed driver.
The digital signature is necessary to check the integrity of the driver, like identifying who is the vendor of the driver. During windows boot, kernel mode drivers have to be signed so that the driver can be loaded. As we have learned in our course kernel being the core of bringing hardware and application together and the driver being the software interface of the hardware component, it is key to Conexant audio to be operational. Driver signature issue also happened when using a third party driver updated from an older version of windows.
A simple fix for this was installing later windows update, resolving this issue. At first windows, 10 had many issues when released but we can see how much fixes they have applied over the year. Many of the issues that I find in an operating system can be resolved by lookup errors code and knowledge base, applying windows update and hotfixes. It is important to run a windows update since most of the windows update is security patches for vulnerability holes and virus definition file for windows security essentials and windows defender. (Rick Broida, 2011) I wouldn’t say that the best way to fix issues with the Windows operating system is running the latest update since the update also can cause issues with your pc as well, although it is essential to understand the issue through Microsoft knowledgebase and applying the appropriate fix in that scenario.
